Global Ministries

Stephen and Louise – South Asia (YWAM)
Stephen and Louise serve as YWAM International Training Coordinators. They serve as proactive consultants for programs that help develop new church-planting workers among unreached people groups. This year Stephen and Louise plan to track and assist 100 training programs in 49 countries and focus on evangelism and church planting in the area they live in.

Dennis and Lydia Bowen – Ukraine (EFCA ReachGlobal)
Dennis and Lydia lead the Kiev Family and Counselor Training Team.  They are working to train qualified Christian counselors and family ministry workers. They cover areas such as substance abuse, marriage and family communication. They also teach courses in seminaries, colleges, churches and public schools. This year Dennis and Lydia plan to train nationals in leadership and counseling skills, provide training for building healthy churches and families and raise funds for the purchase of a new ministry center.

Doug and Kathy Filkins – Europe (Greater Europe Mission)
Doug and Kathy are involved in the design and development of computer-based ministry training for GEM’s eDOT (electronic Discipleship, Outreach & Training) ministry. eDOT’s training courses are currently being offered in Ukraine, Romania, Portugal, and Switzerland.  Their long-range vision is to provide courses for every language group in Europe.  They also provide training to GEM missionaries and partnering nationals on how to design, develop, and teach computer-based  training. This year Doug and Kathy plan to develop discipleship training materials and provide coaching for European ministries seeking to create lay training classes.

John and Cheryl Fornelli 
John and Cheryl are in involved in equipping and training pastors in Nicaragua, Guatemala, Papua New Guinea, and Africa. John and Cheryl are also using oral story-telling to share the gospel and teach the Bible. This year John and Cheryl plan to provide Bible story training in various locations and record Bible stories from different languages onto MP3 Saber devices.

Leslie Herman – Colombia (OMS International)
Leslie has been a church-planter among the middle class of Bogota.  She is a professor at Centro de Estudios Biblicos y Teologicos, where she is involved with recruiting students, developing curriculum, and teaching classes. This year Leslie plans to train the leaders to run the seminary.

Todd and Jana Patterson – Slovakia (EFCA ReachGlobal)
Todd and Jana are primarily focused on theological education although they are also involved in church-planting and evangelism.  Currently they are in a preparation phase while Todd completes his PhD at Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL.  Todd has continued to teach classes in Slovakia via the internet.   They are preparing to return to Slovakia, where Todd will teach at Banska Bystrica Theological Seminary. This year Todd and Jana plan to complete his dissertation, raise full funds to return to Slovakia next year and continue working with Music Together.

Nathan and Becky Kendall – Guinea, West Africa (World Venture)
Nathan and Becky are working to plant churches among the Maninka people group.  They are continuing to develop language skills and seeking opportunities to build relationships with local people. This year Nathan and Becky plan to recruit more workers for Guinea and work with the national church in Guinea to expand and plant another church.
