What We Believe Related Scripture

We Can Trust the Bible

We BELIEVE God spoke long ago to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways. We believe the Old Testament Scriptures are true and that the events were recorded as an example to us and were written for our instruction. Jesus Himself authenticated the Old Testament when He explained the things concerning Himself beginning with Moses and all the prophets. We believe God has and will continue to fulfill every promise He has made from the beginning of time. Over and over, God entreats us to hear His words and obey His voice. The Law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul. It gives wisdom to the simple and is more desirable than gold. In keeping His Word, there is great reward.

The Old Testament is Reliable

We BELIEVE the Word of the Lord is right and true; He is faithful in all He does. We trust in His Word. It is eternal and stands forever. Every word of God is flawless - Not one word has failed. Heaven and earth will pass away, but God’s words will never pass away. The Sovereign Lord will fulfill whatever He says. We believe all Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. The Word of God is living and active and penetrates the heart. We understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. God’s Word, the Bible, is trustworthy - the very Truth of God.

The New Testament is True

We BELIEVE that through the Old Testament Law comes the knowledge of sin and by the works of the Law no one will be justified in God’s sight. Therefore, the Law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. We believe Jesus did not come to abolish the Law or the Prophets, but to fulfill them. Jesus said that everything must be fulfilled that is written about Him in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Testament prophecy. We believe in Jesus’ virgin birth, teachings, miracles, sacrificial death and resurrection, all in fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy. We know that the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set us free from the Law of sin and death. We are not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes.

Jesus Christ is God
We BELIEVE Jesus Christ is the living, incarnate Word of God – God in the flesh. He is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His nature. He is the image of the invisible God.

We believe Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever and that all things were created by Him and for Him. He is above all things and in Him all things consist. Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty. He is the Lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world. King of kings and Lord of lords. He is the righteous Judge, Prince of Peace, God with us, Bread of Life and Living Water.

We believe salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven, given to men by which we must be saved.

The Resurrection of Jesus Proves He is God

We BELIEVE of first importance that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried and raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.

We believe Jesus laid down His life of His own accord. He had the authority to lay it down and to take it up again.

We believe the tomb was empty and that Jesus is alive and ascended into heaven. He appeared to the disciples and then to over 500 at one time. He gave many convincing proofs that He was alive.

Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life. Anyone who believes in Him will live, even if he dies. We believe this. Jesus proclaimed, “I am the Living One, I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore!”

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

We want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection.

Jesus was Sinless

We BELIEVE God has confirmed with an oath that it is impossible for Him to lie.

We believe Jesus Christ was tempted in every way, just as we are – yet was without sin. He is our Faithful High Priest – holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens.

We believe Jesus Christ committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth. God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

We are redeemed with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.

True Christianity is Authentic
We BELIEVE We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the church, of which He is the Savior. Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her to make her holy. We are called to be followers of Christ, by faith.

We believe that without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

The righteous will live by faith and we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved. Though we have not seen Him, we love Him; and even though we do not see Him now, we believe in Him.

We come to Christ as a living Cornerstone-- rejected by men but choice and precious in the sight of God. The one who believes in Him will not be disappointed.

Let us hold fast to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. Do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.
