Started in 1957 by a few families in downtown Naperville, the church
first met at a bank. In 1966 the church moved to a new building on Main St.
in Naperville. As the church grew, the congregation had the courage and foresight
to buy our existing land in 1982 and moved their worship services to a high
school while a new building was under construction. The congregation moved
into a new faze of ministry and mission in 1985 as they moved into their
new worship center. Additional wings to the building were added in 1989 and
in 1996 as more and more people joined the church.
In 2001, Dale Hummel became the new Senior Pastor of the church and
immediately encouraged the 900 person congregation to embrace “The
Next Chapter” of it’s purpose in the community and the
world. To accomplish our role as a “regional center for life
transformation”, it was obvious we would need additional worship
space as we saw our church’s fresh vision come to reality. In
November 2005, 1,500 people started worshipping together in our new
worship center. In January 2006, having seen God bring about our vision
for the
last 5 years, Pastor Dale laid out a bold plan connected to a new vision “to
be an epicenter of hope” to the western suburbs and the world.
We invite you to join us as we purposefully live beyond ourselves to
help people experience the primal call of Jesus to, “Follow me!”. |
